Cooling gel for tile drilling

Cooling gel for tile drilling

Cooling gel for tile drilling is a specially formulated coolant that extends the life of your tile drill bit and improves bore quality. A small amount of gel on the drill location keeps the diamond layer cool during dry drilling, so the bit wears more slowly and the hole comes out cleaner.

How does cooling gel work?

Apply the gel to the tile surface around the drill position. During drilling the gel absorbs the heat generated by friction between the diamond grit and the tile material. This keeps the bit temperature lower than dry drilling without gel, dramatically reducing diamond layer wear. An additional benefit: the gel captures some of the drilling dust, resulting in less mess. The gel is biodegradable and contains no harmful chemicals, so you can use it safely in occupied spaces.

More holes per bit, lower cost

The gel is biodegradable and free of harmful chemicals, so you can use it safely in occupied spaces without worrying about fumes or stains on finished surfaces.

In practice, cooling gel lets you drill up to three times as many holes with the same tile drill bit compared with working without gel. That extension in service life far outweighs the cost of the gel itself. Especially on hard-fired porcelain and polished tiles, where the diamond layer is heavily loaded, cooling gel is a smart investment that significantly lowers your drilling cost per hole.

Simple to use

Apply a dab of gel to the tile, position your bit and drill. After drilling, wipe away the residue with a sponge or cloth. The gel does not stain tiles. Store the tube at room temperature and seal it properly after use. A single tube lasts dozens of drill holes depending on diameter — expect around 100 holes of 10 mm from a 250 ml tube. Order a tube or bottle of cooling gel and discover how easy it is to multiply the lifespan of your tile drill bits.
